Summary: | This article details new material on the methodological procedure and the resultant data reduction of an investigation of what happens when Bible stories are told to children in the home. The wider material is written up in a book currently being published by Jessica Kingsley (in 2009), entitled A child sees God. In this title, the children’s voices are heard connecting on Bible stories. That book however only offers the data of the child’s insights, not the theory or the method offered here. The project aimed to study the use of Bible stories between children and their parents in contemporary family life by investigating both the meanings of Bible stories by children and to ascertain the experiences of parents in their telling. The method was simply to gather data by parents recording the process. |
