Summary:Facilitated contemplation of artwork has been found to be a valuable tool in the spiritual care encounter with adult patients. No reports were found on art-contemplation as a tool in the spiritual care of the pediatric population. This article is a preliminary report of facilitated art-contemplation as a portal to spiritual care encounters with hospitalized children and adolescents, their families and the staff. A series of such encounters is presented, and future direction discussed.
