| Zusammenfassung: | Developed at the time of modern Emancipation and expanded especially after the Second World War, Jewish research about Jesus generated major studies concerning the quest for the «historical Jesus». Principal results are the affirmation of Jesus’ Judaism, the necessity to situate Jesus in a Jewish milieu and the need for precise information and knowledge about Jewish sources. This essay seeks to offer the status questionis of the «Bringing Jesus home» and puts forward various reflections on how Jewish research approaches the problem of Jesus as the Messiah. |
