Description
Summary:This paper discusses the relation between two philosophical and religious experiences on time: those of a temporal continuity and of a discontinuity in time. Three steps are taken, a) analysis of the instant’s aporias in Aristotle’s Physics IV, 10-14; b) description of the concept of kairos in early Christian writings; c) discussion of temporal aspects of the possibility of bearing witness. The paper concludes by underlining that the concept of eschatology, as «time of the end of time», can be correctly understood not only as a continuous process of time, but also as end and new begin in one, death and resurrection at the same time.
