Description
Summary:The theoretical course undertaken by the Christian philosopher Ferdinand Ebner, together with that of his Jewish ‘companions’ Martin Buber, Franz Rosenzweig, and Hermann Cohen, is the beginning of one of the most fertile periods of contemporary thought, that of dialogic philosophy. With its interrogatives on the You, the Other, and the word, this school of thought wholeheartedly participated in the «linguistic turn» that inspired the culture, the arts and literature of greater Austria at the beginning of the 2oth Century. Ebner’s theoretic inclination, oriented towards the retrieval of the existential meaning of the word as a relational bridge between I and You, still today offers stimulating provocations for Christian theology.
