Summary: | Prophetic dialogue becomes a historical and theological rubric that breaks down the modern categories of past, present, and future when interpreting Christian history. Prophetic dialogue suggests an eschatological hermeneutic where past is replaced by memory, present by experience, and future by expectation. Hence, history, from a Christian perspective, is a continuum; history is connected. The author provides examples that illustrate the missiological implications of interpreting history with the rubric of prophetic dialogue and the way in which memory, experience, and expectation transform history into a living witness and an opportunity to rediscover the Gospel anew. |
