Description
Summary:The article begins with a composite case study of actual at risk children in an Indian red light district, highlighting the often overlooked role of parents. After a quick overview of the literature related to children-at-risk and Child Theology, the article develops a motif from the Old Testament through which to consider the largely ignored role of parents who introduce risk by commoditizing their children. The literature reveals various ways in which parents are directly responsible for children being at risk and how this dimension of mission approach is overlooked in mission efforts. A preventative missional approach is encouraged, taking into account the pivotal responsibility of the parents.
