This article examines the key practice of accountability in cross-cultural partnerships, using the theological rubric of creation, fall, redemption and consummation. On this basis, the author highlights the shadowed side of many current approaches to accountability, and proposes that an adequate view of accountability in cross-cultural Christian partnerships involves unavoidable risk. The key for both partners, therefore, is to foment trust in mutually accountable relationships. |
