Description
Summary:Historical scholarship is never neutral. By the selection and presentation of the materials and the context of the historian, a perspective is presented to the reader. The Dictionary of Asian Christianity is a single volume reference work that will provide a much needed resource and seldom heard perspective for the study of and learning about Christianity in Asia. Most of the entries have been selected by teams of Asian scholars and written by the same. As a result of this pioneering work, lessons have been learned about how Asian Christian scholarship can be written in community and how Asian Christianity can be taught in new ways. The final product will have approximately 1,700 signed articles written by nearly 500 authors from 18 countries. Maps, charts, and pictures will be included in this work. It will be a valuable resource for the study of Asian Christianity, Asian mission history and theory, church and society, ecumenics, and Asian theology.
