Summary: | This article attempts to clarify the meaning of the term praxis by analyzing the way praxis is used, and the meaning it is given in the work of four Latin American liberation theologians. Although I find that all of the authors are concerned with overcoming the dualism that seems to exist between theory and practice in a great deal of contemporary theology by an appeal to the idea of praxis, I believe that this attempt often falls short because the authors fail to question radically the implicit dualism in the epistemology of the Kantian and the post-Kantian philosophers that they are dialoguing with, including Marx. |
