Summary: | Questions today about the relationship between the salvation given in Jesus Christ and the salvific value of non-Christian religions looms larger than ever before. The author suggests in this article that, even though the Christian churches are divided in their responses to this challenge, there may be some areas where they can work together to meet this issue in the twenty-first century. He proposes three areas for such common exploration: what measure of salvation might be found in non-Christian religions; the meaning of the Trinity for understanding non-Christian religions; and the importance of preaching the whole Christ. |
