Description
Summary:The synthesis of six sets of religio-cultural tensions by the CEUM during its fifty years of existence has resulted in this Zairian Communauté's unique ecclesiastical self-perception. In many ways the church has become its own major theological theme in an attempt to make its presence and message contextual. From its beginning as a small “gathered colony,” its growth and development are traced with “Church Growth Eyes” through the stages of revival, independence, institutionalization, clericalization, and development. Each era has been characterized by particular tensions, the processing of which has left indelible imprints on the resulting ecclesiology.
