These are the conclusions of Professor Hwang after two extensive world-wide trips on which he had opportunity to observe current veneration practices at close range. Beyond sharing his observations, the author calls for serious research and theological reflection aimed at encountering the ancestor cult practitioner with sensitivity to his world view, on the one hand, and biblical, authoritative norms, on the other. While some of his proposals relate uniquely to his own Roman Catholic tradition, most of the issues raised warrant a fresh look by all missiologists. | ||
