Description
Summary:In this first-of-a-series article about influential missiologists in history, Professor Alderson introduces us to a man much less well known than Lull, Ricci, Venn and Rufus Anderson. While Thomas of Jesus primarily compiled the best thought of those who preceded him, he also contributed creative insights of his own, some of which, the author feels, anticipate modern concepts that only fully surfaced at Vatican II. Thomas also spoke very directly to the practical problems of his time. Yet his work had abiding value and may have helped lay missiological foundations for the Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith which was established in his lifetime.
