David's Innocence: a Response To J. Wright

This is a refutation of John Wright's argument ('The Innocence of David in 1 Chronicles 21', JSOT 60 [1993], pp. 87-105) that the census in 1 Chron. 21 was provoked by a military crisis, and that Joab and not David is responsible for the wrath of God.
