The bilingual book of Ezra had the role of model and legitimator. The problem of the bilingual ch. 2 is solved by postulating two versions of this story, one in each book. Given two versions of ch. 2, a chiastic structure for the Hebrew book may be demonstrated to complement a similar structure in the Aramaic book. |
