Summary: | This paper traces certain aspects regarding the pervasiveness of reincarnation in the West. The ideas of Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (1831-1891), Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925), and other New Age authors are presented. The Neo-Gnostic perspective of reincarnation as auto-salvation emerges. The writings of some of these authors are directly consulted and theological interpretations are proposed in the light of magisterial pronouncements regarding reincarnation. |
