Description
Summary:Liturgy has a close relationship with anthropology. The vision of humanity and the world conditions the comprehension of liturgy, of its religious and theological aspects, its rites and celebrations. The present paper investigates two characteristic topics of the anthropological discourse and places them in relationship to liturgical comprehension. On the one hand, we have the relationship between people and the community, especially the belonging of human beings to the realm of the polis. On the other hand, one needs to comprehend the relationship of belonging to the ecclesiastic community, which is expressed in liturgy. The condition of post-modern humanity, between polis and ekklesia, is also refl ected in liturgy, understood not as individual reality, or separate space, but as a dimension of the person and his/her collocation in the public space.
