Итог: | A poet will lead us through the period full of wishes and hopes that began with pope Giovanni XXIII. His fi gure is a symbol of the dialogue, which at that time began between the hierarchy and the church of the people. Along with his creativity, in his psalms, David Maria Turoldo shows an overwhelming desire to communicate with everyone. Moreover, in this literary work, his challenge and aim are to bring theology and poetry together, to show God to men and to bring the human voice to God, to reconcile life with its symbolic aspects and with thanksgiving and, furthermore, with liturgy. In his poetic translation of the Psalms, the human voice and the Bible enter into a dialogue. His poetry gives new consistency to the religious dimensions of the original text. The Divine Word seams strengthened by such an intensely human adaptation. This essay highlights distinctive elements of David Turoldo’s poetry, which emerge from the study of his widely neglected literary works on the Psalms. |
