Summary: | Summus Pontifex Franciscus die 15 mensis Augusti anno 2015 Lit. Ap. M.p. Hoc in articulo novis can. 1678 §1 Lit. Ap. MIDI de partium declarationibus examini subicitur et quaeritur, utrum intuitu veteris can. Depositions of the Parties in M. P. Mitis Iudex Dominus Iesus. On the 15 August 2015 Pope Francis issued the Motu Proprio Mitis Iudex Dominus Iesus (MIDI). In order to facilitate and speed up the marriage proceedings in the ecclesiastical courts, the Pope renewed the specific norms for the procedure for determining the nullity of a marriage. The other procedural norms of the CIC/1983 were neither suppressed or altered. The author of this article explains what the norm of can. 1678 §1 is about and where the renewal and continuity with the previous norm (can. 1679) consists in with regard to the full evidential value of party statements in marriage annulment proceedings. |
