Summary: | Our task as Christ's Church today is to let go of the deadly dominant paradigm of conflict where Muslims are targets, and to embrace a new paradigm where Muslims are neighbors. Based on my decade of service as a chaplain and pastor in Morocco, I propose that this new paradigm is characterized by a cruciform witness of humility and vulnerability; a dialogical witness to the pain, longing, and experience of God's presence among Muslims; and a diaconal witness of solidarity, service and development alongside Muslims. |
