Description
Summary:Johannes Hempel is not available to tell us the way he understood the “last truth.” But this tantalizing phrase challenges readers of Job to further analysis of the book. Is the “last truth” the person of Job himself or is it buried in the book? The transmission of the book may be tangled, but it is up to the reader to weigh all the angles and proffer a personal response. The present article is one attempt, but submitted with a nagging doubt: Is “last” the appropriate word to use about divine truth?
