| Resumo: | This article, based on an address given to the ‘Fruits and Future of Vatican II’ symposium, explores the relationship between the insights of Vatican II and John Paul II’s call for a ‘new evangelization’ and considers their implications for today. It argues that the church’s mission to the world is strongly related to its commitment to the contemplation of the face of Chris and to encounter ‘a different fire’. |
