| Summary: | Im Missbrauchsskandal ist eine tiefgreifende Legitimationskrise der Kirche deutlich geworden, die in dem Zusammenhang von sexueller Gewalt, ihrer Vertuschung und der Machtkonzentration beim Klerus begründet ist. Wie hier dargelegt wird, kann aus politikwissenschaftlicher Sicht die Struktur der Kirche als zentralistische Monarchie ohne echte Gewaltenteilung und Rechtsbindung charakterisiert werden, deren Zugang zu Leitungsfunktionen exklusiv gestaltet ist. Die Ausführungen werden mit einem Plädoyer für eine neue institutionelle Verfasstheit beschlossen, die auch Thema im Synodalen Weg ist. The abuse scandal has revealed a deep crisis of legitimacy in the Church which is rooted in the connection between sexual violence, its cover-up and the concentration of power in the clergy. As explained here, from a political science perspective, the structure of the church can be characterised as a centralist monarchy without a thorough separation of powers and legal binding, whose access to leadership functions is designed to be exclusive. The explanations are concluded with a plea for a new institutional constitution, which is also a topic in the Synodal Way. |
