Midrash and Papias of Hierapolis
This article uses a connotative understanding of Jewish midrash in order to demonstrate the presence of midrash in two extracts from the early Christian writer Papias of Hierapolis (late first to early second centuries ce) as examples of on-going Jewish influence within the early church.
