| Summary: | L’organisation en France, dans les années 1960, du Mouvement Planète, né afin de réunir les lecteurs du Matin des magiciens et de la revue Planète, permet d’observer une des premières tentatives de constituer une « religion » New Age, bien qu’on en constate l’échec dès 1971. Cet article se donne pour double objectif de retracer l’évolution du Mouvement, depuis l’ouvrage fondateur jusqu’aux Ateliers Planète, et de réfléchir à la notion de religion dans un contexte de modernité tardive et de proto-New Age. La corrélation entre le déclin du mouvement et son incapacité à s’organiser suggère une analyse en termes durkheimiens de « sacré de communion » et de « sacré d’ordre ». The organization in France, in the 60s, of the Planète movement, born to gather readers of the Matin des magiciens and Planète magazines, constitutes one of the first attempts to establish a New Age “religion”, even if its failure could be observed as early as 1971. This article has the dual objective of describing the evolution of the Movement, from the founding work to the « Ateliers Planète », and of considering the concept of religion within the background of late modernity and the proto-New Age. The relationship between the decline of the movement and its inability to organize itself suggests an analysis using Durkheim’s ideas of “sacré de communion” and “sacré d’ordre”. |
