| Summary: | Este artigo, partindo da ausência protestante no Brasil até 1810, anali-sa as primeiras aberturas jurídicas que possibilitaram a entrada de gru-pos protestantes no Brasil, por intermédio dos dois tratados estabelecidos com a Inglaterra em 1810: o Tratado de Aliança e Amizade e o Tratado de Comércio e Navegação. Posteriormente, mediante o estudo do Diário da Assembléia Constituinte de 1823 com os respectivos discursos pró e contra a abertura religiosa, evidencia os elementos que contribuíram para a tole-rância religiosa no Brasil, sancionada na Constituição de 1824. This essay, starting from the Protestant absence till 1810, analyses the first official entrances that allowed the coming of Protestant groups in Brazil trough two treats established with England in 1810: The Alliance And Fel-lowship Treat and The Trade And Navigation Treat. Through the study of Diário da Assembléia Constituinte de 1823 whith the supporting speeches of religious opening, and against religious opening, the author shows the elements which help the religious tolerance in Brazil present in the Con-stituition of 1824. |
