Ao resgatar o pensamento agosti-niano, Tolkien cria, ou subcria, um universo literário que é regido pelacompreensão de que o Bem é vivido pelas virtudes dadas por Deus, aomesmo tempo que o Mal é entendido pela corrupção das criaturas em rela-ção a essas mesmas virtudes, desviando-se do caminho proposto por Deus. This article deals with the augustinian perception of the Good and theEvil in Lord of The Rings, of J. R. R. Tolkien. When rescuing the augusti-nian thought, Tolkien create, or sub-create, a literary universe that is con-ducted by the understanding of that the Good is lived by the virtues givenby God, at the same time where the Evil is understood by the corruptionof the creatures in relation to these same virtues, turning aside itself fromthe way proposed by God. |
