Terms of movement, orientation, and distance are related to the water and death metaphors in order to express spiritual distance from God. Jonah’s psalm echoes the narrative, showing how the outer events regarding Jonah produced their effect on the inner of Jonah. The prophet describes the experience of a spiritual descent into death (far from God) and of being raised back to life. L’article se concentre sur l’utilisation de métaphores dans Jonas 2,3-10. Une image complexe d’eau et de mort est présente dans le psaume de Jonas. Le poème est principalement orienté verticalement, utilisant des images exprimant la profondeur et la distance. Les termes de mouvement, d’orientation et de distance sont liés aux métaphores de l’eau et de la mort afin d’exprimer la distance spirituelle de Dieu. Le psaume de Jonas fait écho au récit et montre comment les événements extérieurs concernant Jonas ont produit leurs effets sur l’intérieur de Jonas. Le prophète décrit l’expérience d’une descente spirituelle dans la mort (loin de Dieu) et celle d’être ressuscité à la vie. |
