Description
Summary:In view of current developments in today’s society, this contribution faces the challenges and problems of Christian soteriology – which has always been the heart and the center of Christian faith as well as the driving force behind any dogmatic argument. In order to show the plausibility and existential relevance of the salvific Gospel, the whole field of soteriology has to be reconstructed in three different perspectives that cannot be separated: We need a Trinitarian soteriology which focuses on the horizon of the soteriological center (the mystery of God himself), on its intermediation (by Christ) and on our experienceable transformation (in the Holy Spirit). This liberating dynamic sets us free – to do what can be done and to expect the eschatological perfection that will hopefully come.
