Riepilogo:Following the research of Father Herbert Schade SJ concerning the close relationship between the Lamb of God and the sign of Aries in the zodiac the biblical narration Genesis 22 of the ascent of Abraham and Isaac, the heaven's opening and the ritual sacrifice of a lamb is primarily understood against the background of the cosmic or celestial liturgy of the whole creation. In discussing various interpretations of Genesis 22 both basic terms "to see" and "to sacrifice" in the story are read as sharing the wisdom of God. The article makes clear, why according to Jewish tradition Isaac and according to Christian tradition the Crucified is seen as the incarnation of heavenly wisdom. The typological exegesis emphasizes the unity between the Old and New Testament and shows, how the interpretation of the cross as the revelation of wisdom in its cosmic dimensions includes the religious wisdom of the people, exemplified by the visionary experience of God and the world by Northamerican Indians.
