Description
Summary:After lecturing in Modern Philosophy, Walter Kern became Professor of Fundamental Theology at the University of Innsbruck in 1969. Among his many lectures included the "Introduction to the Mystery of Salvation", a course requested by the Second Vatican Council for those starting their theological studies. After more than 10 years, Father Kern realized that this course had become not only a "theological aperitif" but a profound study of such pressing thèmes as "sécularisation", "critiques of ideology", the historical conséquences of Christianity, and the personal factors involved in theological assent. Ail these thèmes orbited the task to combat atheism given to the Jesuits by Pope Paul VI. Joined to this article is the bibliography of W. Kern – 1992/2001.
