Описание
Итог:A book review of G. Bickell in the first issue of the ZKTh in 1877 provides the starting point for an investigation into the formation of Genesis. His view of an authentic pre-mosaic origin of this book cannot be held any longer, yet his plea for its coherence as a composition receives increasing acceptance nowadays: (1) The recent discussion regarding the Pentateuch shows that most of the founda tions of its historical-critical analysis are tumbling. (2) There are many unifying motifs throughout the book, as demonstrated also by a number of modern rese archers. These factors allow us to see (3) the book of Genesis anew as a unified composition which arose in Persian times, with exemplary traits, among them Israel's role as a model for living together as a people as well as with others in a reconciled way. Passing over 125 years of history of exegesis and of theological struggle thus shows significant changes and progress, especially in a deepened and more adequate comprehension of biblical texts and of their formation.
