Summary: | Whereas theology traditionally sets out from the entity of God, modernity considers nothingness. What can be said of God in view of the manifold meaning of nothingness (philosophy, literature, art,...)? In a Christian context, that completes the absence of God (in the experience of Jesus Christ in Golgotha) just as when reflecting upon the spiritual dimension of belief, there are possibilities of referring to God that derive from nothingness. These insights are then in the light of existing knowledge thus giving rise to the theological discourse in its truly symbolic and theoretical structure. |
