In the Catholic tradition, especially following the division with the East, first, and with Protestantism, then, the emphasis has nevertheless been shifted to the Petrine ministry, which the Vatican II still considers "the perpetual and visible principle and foundation of both bishops and the multitude of the faithful" (LG 23). The problem that arises is the relationship between the two "principles" of unity. The essay takes up the reflection of two Orthodox theologians (N. Afanassief and J. Zizioulas) who developed a Eucharistic ecclesiology that also influenced Catholic theology. The two, although in a different form, present a critical view of the Catholic vision. This found an authoritative expression in the Letter of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Communionis notio (1992), which affirms the essential link between Eucharist and primacy. The dialogue especially with Zizioulas allows us to glimpse paths of reconciliation between the two traditions, through the mediation of reflection on the synod, that always requires a protos. (English) L'Eucaristia è stata fin dagli inizi considerata fonte dell'unità della Chiesa. Nella tradizione cattolica, soprattutto in seguito alla divisione con l'Oriente, prima, e con il protestantesimo, poi, l'accento è stato tuttavia spostato sul ministero petrino, che ancora il Vaticano II considera «il perpetuo e visibile principio e fondamento sia dei vescovi sia della moltitudine dei fedeli» (LG 23). Il problema che sorge è il rapporto tra i due "principi" dell'unità. Il saggio riprende la riflessione di due teologi ortodossi (N. Afanassief e J. Zizioulas) che hanno sviluppato un'ecclesiologia eucaristica che ha influito anche sulla teologia cattolica. I due, pur in forma diversa, presentano una visione critica nei confronti della visione cattolica. Questa ha trovato una espressione autorevole nella Lettera della Congregazione per la dottrina della fede, Communionis notio (1992), nella quale si afferma il nesso imprescindibile tra eucaristia e primato. Il confronto soprattutto con Zizioulas permette di intravedere vie di riconciliazione tra le due tradizioni, attraverso la mediazione della riflessione sul sinodo che comporta sempre un protos. |
