Summary: | For the past year and a half, the Covid-19 pandemic has threatened our health, held back our economy and radically disrupted our lives. According to a World Health Organisation report, the situation we find ourselves in today could have been avoided if the world had reacted more quickly. Nevertheless, not everything was negative, for example, the discovery and rapid development of vaccines against Covid-19 was a truly impressive achievement. The article examines this situation and reflects on its consequences, calling for an exemption from the validity of patents for the vaccines that have been developed, as requested by low-income countries at the World Trade Organisation. Humankind must be the architect of its fate and do everything to achieve universal vaccination. |
