Zusammenfassung:The contribution analyzes Origen's priestly model in the Homilies on Leviticus, the first work dedicated to the exegesis of the biblical book, written in an era of recent affirmation of the monoepiscopate. Origen's priestly conception, articulated on several interrelated levels, while presenting the now traditional typological identification of the Jewish priest with the Bishop and the Presbyter, further develops the spiritual dimension of the priesthood and enhances above all the didactic and exegetical competence of the priest, assimilated to the didaskalos. The comparison with normative texts but also with the works of Cyprian, highlights the extraordinary depth of Origen's proposal, which is the product of a sophisticated exegetical exercise, in continuity with Clement Alexandrinus and in competition with Gnostic exegesis.
