Summary: | Alonso of St Martin, illegitimate child of Philip IV, procreated of single mother, was promoted to sacred orders between 1658-1675, from the tonsure of the espiscopate, and ungarmed of different ecclesiastic benefits, with major relevancy asabbot of Alcala la Real (Jaen), and later, in 1675, to the bishopric of Oviedo, though finally, his step-brother Carlos II promoted it to the miter of Cuenca, in 1681 until 1705. In his condition of residental bishop, and before as abbot with jurisdictional power, it did not stop fulfilling his responsibilities, included that of judge, mercy to the receipt of one of the institutes of the Law posclásico Roman, that appears legally with Constantino, though it has major normative development in times of Justiniano, from where it happened to the Roman-canonical medieval Ius Commune, coming up to the Modern Age.
