Summary:"Canon 686 §3 provides that at the petition of the supreme moderator with the consent of the council, exclaustration can be imposed on a member of a religious institute of pontifical right by the Holy See or by the diocesan bishop on a member of an institute of diocesan right for a grave cause with equity and charity observed The following rescript was received by a superior general who with the consent of the council petitioned/or imposed exclaustration on a member. ft should be noted that prior to this, this form of exclaustration was given indefinitely. Now it seems to be given for a stated period of time. The letter to the superior general accompanying the rescript requested that the care of the member be carefully monitored."
