Description
Summary:"A priest of our diocese recently introduced several changes into the celebration of the Mass, most of which were commonplace before the liturgical reforms following the Second Vatican Council. These changes include: (1) placing six large candlesticks and a crucifix on the altar; (2) wearing a biretta, maniple, and the so-called "fiddleback" chasuble; and (3) celebrating one Sunday Mass ad orientem, that is, facing the apse of the Church. He cites the writings and practices of Pope Benedict XVI to justify the reintroduction of these liturgical practices. Are these permitted in the celebration of the ordinary form of the Mass?"
