Summary: | This essay has the intention to give indications on how the Holy See, through the documents of the Catholic Church, contributes to the legal and cultural development of African States. It does this through the diplomatic relations with many African States, and the African Union where it paticipates as Observer member. Also through the creation of Schools right from the arrival of the early Catholic missionaries in the African continent, and through the Pope's travels, speeches, messages, homilies, Apostolic letters, Encyclical letters, Apostolic Exhortation and such other documents emanated from the dicasteries, called the "Roman Curia", the Holy See has incised in a grand measure on the legal ethics of most African States, especially in the matters concerning the dignity and fundamental rights of the human person |
