Summary:According to can. 1643, the cases on the state of people do not have res iudicata effects in a way in which, although there are two agreeing decisions, the case can be "reopended" again and in specific circumstances. The ultimate reason of it is salus animarum, and the respected to the truth. In this article, under can. 1644 and the arts. 290-291 DC, the different aspects related to the nova causae propositio are analysed. In that way, the subjects legitimated to appeal are established
