Summary: | The editors of Jonathan Edwards Studies are pleased to present a sample from The Shepard Family Collection of manuscripts, printed materials, and ephemera recently gifted to Yale University. With items dating from the late seventeenth to the twentieth century and focusing on the Dwight family, the collection also includes a number of letters and other compositions by Jonathan Edwards and members of his immediate family. One such document, in the hand of Jonathan's father Timothy, apparently joined an exercise in handwriting with an appreciation for the political satire of the piece being copied. |
