Description
Summary:Turkmenistan is a country on the border between the Turkish and Iranian world, which only gained independence at the end of the 20th century. The Country is considered the only continuing totalitarian state in the post-Soviet area and is incredibly rich in natural resources (especially gas), which is why it is compared to the Gulf States. The Country is known for the bizarre personality cult of its first two presidents. However, do their policies succeed in creating a true nation from a union of clans and tribes? Nevertheless, the most interesting thing about these leaders is their religious policy, where the teaching of the first president Niyazov is presented as an alternative to Islam, and his book Ruhnama as an alternative to the Koran.
