Summary: | Ignatius was a man of prayer, but above all – and this is what counts most for the Church – he was a teacher of prayer. Perhaps his greatest grace was to be able to communicate his way of praying to others. The key lies in the harmonious use he learned to make of his time, some of which he used to write, some of it in prayer, some of it in conversation with others, some of it in gazing at the sky. This article reflects on Ignatian prayer, and seeks to engage in dialogue with the saint, prompting him to tell us about some of his experiences according to the intention that prompted him to write his Autobiography, in which he chose to include those facts from which he thought others might draw benefit for their relationship with the Lord. |
