Summary:On the occasion of the annual spring meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, Pope Francis sent a letter to all participants 8 April 2021. In his letter, he highlights the most serious problems our world is facing, aggravated by the cruel pandemic we are experiencing. He expresses the hope that this crisis will be an opportunity to build a more inclusive, sustainable economy geared towards the common good of humanity. This article aims to justify the importance and validity of the content of this letter, presenting certain data and reflections on the issues the Pope raises.
