Summary: | The dialogue between faith and culture is one of the challenges that the Church has faced since its beginnings. Indeed, the Gospel is preached and propagated within the cultural characteristics of its time, which originates in the dynamic of the incarnation. From this, culture can be defined as “a materialisation of the human spirit and, at the same time, a spiritualisation of matter” (Cardinal Avery Dulles). This definition is very important when approaching the manifestations of Christian culture from the perspective of faith, without falling into the trap of wanting to secularise them. These include popular religiosity and its expressions of piety. |
