| Summary: | The Congregation for the Clergy has published an Instruction entitled The pastoral conversion of the parish community in the service of the evangelising mission of the Church. The aim of the Instruction is to draw attention to the epochal changes that society has undergone in recent decades, especially as regards to the mobility of people, dispersion, speed, fragmentation: a transformation that involves everyone and with which the parish must confront itself. Pope Francis hopes that the Christian community will have the missionary and evangelising spirit of the “outgoing Church” (cf. Evangelii gaudium), and the Instruction is intended to be a canonical-pastoral tool with which to apply the ecclesiology of the Second Vatican Council to the life of the parish more effectively. |
