Description
Summary:The analysis of the geopolitical dynamics which run through the Mediterranean highlights the significance of the challenge of recognition. The peoples, regions, cities and cultures of the Mediterranean area suffer from the absence or weakening of the processes of recognition of their own identity and dignity which are essential for the construction of ways of dialogue and affinity. It is necessary to go beyond the cultural nonrecognition which is generating frustration, resentment and feelings of oppression and exclusion and return to the originating idea of "mediterraneus" as a space found between the different lands, peoples and cultures, acting as mediator between them.
