Siendo una persona excepcionalmente instruida y dotada de un conocimiento enciclopédico, ha dejado una huella profunda en el ámbito cultural e intelectual, en su patria y fuera de ella. Hábil apologeta, conocedor de la teología, Escotista y filósofo de primer nivel, en Roma fue uno de los primeros profesores de la que hoy es la Universidad Pontificia. Antoniamun y uno de los fundadores de la homónima revista. Además, dejó una notable huella también en los sectores antes mencionados durante su permanencia en su país en calidad de profesor en la Facultad Catñolica de Teología de Zagreb. Formando en el espíritu de su tiempo, Harapin ha dejado a su paso un gran número de obras científicas, libros y artículos más breves no publicados, los cuales, por su calidad, en muchos aspetos trascienden el espíritu del tiempo en el cual fueron escritos y, de igual modo, representan el rastro del rico pensamiento teolópgico-filosófico católico del periodo comprendido entre las dos Guerras Mundiales. Su rica biografía y su legado que han sido conservados dan testimonio de la excepcionalidad de Teofil Harapin, a quien una muerte imprevista ha interrumpido la actividad creadora, haciendola parcialmente caer en el olvido. Con este trabajo deseamos mostrar a detalle su vasta gama de actividad, con el particular acento en su trabajo intelectual, con el cual se integró en la comunidad científica de Croacia entre las dos Guerras dejando una profunda huella en la Universidad Pontificia Antonianum, al unir la realidad científica e intelectual croata con la corriente franciscana en Roma. The Croatian Franciscan Father Teofil Josep Harapin, born in continental Croatia, represents the fruits of the Franciscan renewal in the spirit of the Constitutions of Pope Leo XIII. Very highly educated and endowed with encyclopaedic knowledge, he left a strong imprint in the cultural and intellectual sphere, at home and abroad. A skilled apologist, a fine theologian, a first-class Scotist and philosopher, in Rome he was one of the first professors of the Antonianum - now the Pontifical University Antonianum - and one of the founders of the journal of the same name. Moreover, he made notable contributions in the aforementioned fields also while in his homeland, as a professor at the Faculty of Catholic Theology in Zagred, Formed in the spirit of his time, Harapin left to posterity a large number of scholarly works, books and shorter unpublished articles, which, by their quality, do in many respects transcend their time, even as they bear witness to the richly flourishing Catholic theological philosophical thought in the inter-war period. The full record of his life and achievements, and the legacy that has been preserved, testify to the exceptional figure of Teofil Harapin, whose sudden death interrupted his creative activity, and almost consigned it to oblivion. Here we wish to show in detail the vast range of his activiries, with a particular emphasis on his intellectual work, its bond with the scholarly community of Croatia between the two World Wars, and the deep impression in left at the Roman Antonianum, linking the Croatian sholarly and intellectual reality with the Franciascan one in Rome. |
